Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 small to medium onion, minced
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix together the dry ingredients and the onion.
    Break in the egg and beat vigorously.
    Add the milk; stir together.
    Make small round cakes, 2 inches in diameter.
    Poke a hole in the center with finger, a doughnut.
    Slide into deep fat in which fish has been fried, until they are deep brown.
    Serve hot and at once.
    Serves 3 to 4.
