Salt Free Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

15 medium-sized cucumbers
5 medium-sized onions
5 c. vinegar
2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 c. honey
1 tsp. turmeric
2 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation

Thinly slice cucumbers and onions.
Make a spiced vinegar, using vinegar, celery seed, ginger, honey, turmeric and mustard seed.
Mix all ingredients.
Let mixture come to boil in an enamel or stainless steel pan.
Add cucumbers and onions and bring to boiling point.
Pack cucumbers and onions in scalded pint jars. Then pour hot vinegar over them, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
Seal and process 10 minutes in boiling water bath.
Yields 11 pints.
