Sour Cream Pound Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. white sugar
1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
6 eggs, separated
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. double-strength vanilla flavoring or 2 tsp. if not double strength
Preparation

Separate eggs and beat whites until stiff and set aside. Cream sugar, margarine, yolks and vanilla. Sift soda and flour together.
Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately and mix well.
Gently fold in egg whites.
Bake in greased, floured tube pan at 300\u00b0 for about 2 hours.
Do not cook too fast, adjust oven.
