Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 stick margarine
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter Crisco
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
8 apples
Preparation

Boil first 4 ingredients for 5 minutes; set aside.
Combine Crisco, baking powder, salt and flour.
Add milk.
Roll out dough. Cut into 8 squares.
Place cored apple in center of each pastry. Seal pastry.
Place in 9 x 13-inch pan.
Pour syrup over top of dumplings.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes, basting frequently.
