Five Hour Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. V-8 juice
    2 Tbsp. onion soup mix
    3 Tbsp. instant tapioca
    2 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
    1 1/2 lb. lean stew meat or venison, cubed
    1 qt. frozen green beans
    2 c. diced carrots
    3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 c. sliced mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Combine first four ingredients and let stand for 20 minutes. Layer remaining ingredients in a large, deep casserole dish.
    Pour liquid over layers.
    Cover tightly.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for five hours. Serves 6.
