Easy Beef Bourguignonne - cooking recipe

2 lb. round or chuck, cubed
2 thickly sliced carrots
4 oz. water chestnuts, sliced
1 c. celery, sliced
6 oz. mushrooms, sliced
1 (16 oz.) jar small white onions, rinsed
1 lb. can diced tomatoes
1 (10 3/4 oz.) beef broth
1 c. Burgundy or red wine
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. black pepper
3 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation

Combine meat and vegetables in a large casserole.
Mix together seasonings, flour, sugar and salt.
Sprinkle over.
Pour wine and broth over all.
Cover and bake for 4 hours at 325\u00b0.
