Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/4 c. warm water
3 3/4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 pkg. yeast
1 egg, beaten
Powdered Sugar Glaze
Preparation

Pour boiling water over sugar, salt and shortening.
Add milk and let stand until warm.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add to milk mix.
Mix in egg.
Stir in 2 cups flour.
Beat well.
Add flour to make a soft dough.
Roll out 1/4 inch thick and cut in squares.
Deep fry at 360\u00b0.
Drain and glaze.
