Double Cornbread(9 To 12 Servings) - cooking recipe

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 (7 oz.) can whole kernel corn, well drained
Preparation

Heat oven to 425\u00b0.
Grease 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Blend all ingredients except whole kernel corn, about 20 seconds.
Beat vigorously one minute.
Stir in whole kernel corn.
Pour into pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
