Red Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. large cucumbers
    1 c. pickling lime
    1 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 bottles red food coloring
    2 Tbsp. alum
    enough water to cover
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
    2 1/2 c. water
    10 c. sugar
    8 pieces stick cinnamon
    1 large pack Brock's cinnamon discs
Preparation
    Peel and core cucumbers.
    Cut into chunks or rings.
    Cover with water to which pickling lime has been added.
    Let set 24 hours.
    Drain and rinse well.
    Put in ice water to cover.
    Let set 2 hours.
