Fried Oysters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. select oysters
    1 c. water
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. water
    buttered bread crumbs
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Carefully look over oysters and remove any shell fragments. Pour 1 cup of water over oysters and drain.
    Pat dry with paper towel.
    Beat egg and add 2 tablespoons of water.
    Combine bread crumbs with salt and pepper.
    Dip oysters in egg mixture, then in seasoned crumbs.
    Repeat.
    Fry in deep fat at 375\u00b0 to 385\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serves 2 to 4.
