Eight Layer Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, broken into small pieces
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. diced celery
    1 (1 lb.) can small peas, drained
    1 lb. crisp fried bacon, crumbled
    1 pt. salad dressing
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese (to cover)
Preparation
    Layer ingredients in a 9 x 13-inch dish in order listed. Spread salad dressing like icing, then sprinkle sugar on salad dressing.
    Top with cheese.
    Make night before for better flavor. Tuna or ham can be used instead of bacon for main dish in summer.
