Celebration Chicken Buns - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. Crisco oil
1/3 c. finely chopped green pepper
1/3 c. finely chopped celery
1/3 c. finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. ketchup
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 (5 oz. each) cans chicken (in water), drained (1 1/2 c.)
8 hamburger buns
Preparation

Heat oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Add green pepper, celery, onion and garlic.
Saute until crisp-tender. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, chili powder and pepper.
Mix well.
Heat to a boil. Reduce heat. Stir in chicken. Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Spoon 1/4 cup chicken mixture over bottom half of each bun. Replace top.
Makes 8 servings.
