Spicy Mexican Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. spicy ground sausage
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves chopped garlic
    4 oz. drained chopped chilies
    8 (10-inch) flour tortillas
    2 c. shredded Monterey Jack or hot pepper cheese
    16 oz. can refried beans
    7 oz. jar red peppers, drained
Preparation
    Cook sausage, onion and garlic in skillet until done.
    Drain grease.
    Stir in green chilies; set aside. Grease 10-inch pie dish.
    Place 2 tortillas on the bottom. Spread 1/2 sausage mixture. Sprinkle with 1/2 the cheese. Add 2 tortillas. Spread with beans. Add 2 tortillas.
    Spread with peppers. Add 2 tortillas. Spread with remaining sausage and cheese on top. Cover and bake 40 minutes.
    Uncover and bake 15 minutes until hot in center.
    Cool 10 minutes. Cut.
    Serve with salsa or sour cream.
