Low-Fat Creamy Fettuccine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small finely chopped onion
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    2/3 c. low-fat Ricotta cheese
    1 Tbsp. chopped fresh or 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1(14.5 oz.) can chopped tomatoes (undrained)
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. fettuccine
Preparation
    Spray a 2-quart saucepan with nonstick cooking spray; heat until hot.
    Cook and stir onion and garlic in saucepan over medium heat until onion is tender.
    Stir in remaining ingredients except fettuccine.
    Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
    Simmer uncovered about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens slightly.
