Oatmeal Crunchies(Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening or margarine
    1 1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. milk
    1 3/4 c. quick cooking rolled oats
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. raisins or chopped dates
Preparation
    Cream the shortening or margarine with brown sugar until fluffy.
    Beat in egg and milk.
    Add flour, soda and salt, blending well to make a thick batter.
    Fold in oats, pecans and raisins or chopped dates.
    Drop by teaspoonful 3-inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 11 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from cookie sheet.
    Cool completely on wire rack.
