Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. sifted corn meal
4 Tbsp. flour
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
sprinkle of hot sauce
1 small onion
1 egg
milk (enough to make stiff dough)

Preparation

Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, hot sauce and onion in a mixing bowl.
Mix egg and milk, leaving the dough stiff enough to spoon or roll in long rolls.
Fry in fish grease.
Brown slowly.
