Swedish Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. shortening (2 sticks butter and 2 sticks margarine)
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
4 c. oatmeal
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add egg, then add all dry ingredients.
Add oatmeal last.
(You may have to work the oatmeal in with your hands.
It becomes very stiff.)
Try to blend as best you can.
Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork dipped in cold water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
Sift powdered sugar on top of cookies.
Remove from cookie sheet.
Place on plate to cool.
Store in Tupperware or in refrigerator in tight container.
