Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. thinly sliced cucumbers
1/4 c. thinly sliced onion
1 c. vinegar
1/8 tsp. turmeric (saffron)
1/2 Tbsp. mustard
1 c. sugar
Preparation

Let vegetables stand in weak brine (1/4 cup salt to 1 quart water) to cover, overnight.
Drain.
Heat remaining ingredients to boiling point.
Add vegetables and bring slowly back to boil. Remove from stove and seal in sterilized jars.
