Clams In White Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans clams (fresh approximately 12)
    2/3 c. oil
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 large cloves garlic, chopped
    1/4 c. finely chopped parsley
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 lb. linguini
    grated cheese
Preparation
    Drain clams; reserve liquid.
    Set aside.
    Slowly heat oil and margarine in Dutch oven or large heavy skillet.
    Saute garlic until golden (approximately 5 minutes).
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in clam liquid, parsley, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
    Add clams.
    Simmer 5 minutes or until heated through.
    Serve over pasta.
    Serves 4.
