Cheesy-Cream Of Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    4 Tbsp. butter
    6 to 7 potatoes
    garlic salt to taste
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
    12 oz. processed cheese
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    In saucepan, saute onion in butter.
    Peel potatoes and cut them into small cubes.
    Add potatoes to onion and barely cover with hot water.
    Season with garlic, salt and salt and pepper to taste.
    Cook until mushy.
    Stir in can of soup.
    Cut cheese into thin slices and stir into potato mixture.
    Stir until cheese has melted.
    Add milk.
    May be served hot or cold.
