Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Pour water over oatmeal and let set for 30 minutes.
    Beat eggs and add to oatmeal.
    Cream shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
    Mix with oatmeal.
    Add flour, soda and salt.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes (or until firm).
