Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/3 c. vinegar
1/3 c. water
4 c. cooked, sliced beets or 2 cans sliced beets
3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
1/4 tsp. each: salt and pepper
Preparation

Combine sugar, cornstarch, vinegar and water.
Boil for 5 minutes.
Add beets and simmer for 30 minutes.
Remove from heat; add butter, salt and pepper.
Serves 6.
