Blackberry Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter (not margarine)
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg yolk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1 1/2 c. blackberry preserves
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar. Beat in the egg yolk. Stir in flour and pecans. Press 3/4 dough in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Spread preserves on the top. Crumble the remaining dough on top (the dough shouldn't completely cover the preserves). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes about 24 (2 x 2 inch) squares.
