Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box Duncan Hines German chocolate cake mix
    1 1/3 c. water
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 sticks oleo
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. Kraft caramels
    1/3 c. plus 2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
    6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix cake mix, water, eggs and oleo, blending until smooth. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch cake pan and bake at 350\u00b0
    for 15 minutes.
    Melt the caramels and milk over low heat.
    Remove cake from oven.
    Pour melted caramels over cake (do not spread to the edge).
    Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and pecans.
    Top with remaining batter.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool and serve with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
