Beef-Wine Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. beef cubes
    1 (14 oz.) can beef consomme
    1 small onion, diced
    1/3 c. dry red wine, plus water to make 1/2 c.
    1/4 c. fine bread crumbs
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients and pour in 3-quart casserole.
    Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Stir into beef mixture. Cook, uncovered, about 3 hours at 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0.
    Stir occasionally. Add small amount of water if it gets thick before beef is tender. Serve over noodles, rice or with potatoes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
