Mrs. Ruth'S Steamed Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cabbage
    1 slice bacon
    approximately 1 to 1 1/2 c. water
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Bring water (about 1 1/2-inches deep in pot) to a boil. Slice cabbage into shreds and add to boiling water. Cut bacon into small pieces and add. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover and steam until cabbage is tender. Remove from heat; drain excess water and chop to desired consistency.
