Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. hot water
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Melt shortening in saucepan. Cool.
Add sugar, molasses and egg.
Beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt. Add alternately with hot water to first mixture. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes.
