Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 Tbsp. salad oil
1 egg white (unbeaten)
6 Tbsp. water
3 to 4 large onions, peeled and sliced about 1/4-inch thick
Preparation

Sift flour; measure and resift with salt into mixing bowl. Add milk, oil and egg white and beat until smooth.
Add water to make a medium thin batter.
Separate onion slices into rings and dip into batter so each ring is completely covered.
Drop batter-covered rings into deep fat heated to about 375\u00b0 and fry to a golden brown.
Fry a few rings at a time.
Lift out and drain on paper toweling; sprinkle with salt.
