Okra Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. okra
    1 c. celery
    1/2 onion, chopped
    4 tomatoes (ripe)
    1 tsp. brown sugar
    1 ham bone
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    4 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 tsp. salt
    6 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Slice okra and celery crosswise.
    Chop green pepper and onion. Brown in fat for approximately 5 minutes.
    Put ham bone in a heavy pot and cover with water.
    Add browned pepper and onion. Boil until meat separates from bone.
    Cut tomatoes into quarters. Add all other ingredients.
    Simmer approximately 1 hour.
    Serves 5.
