Baked Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 7 apples
    3/4 cup white sugar
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1 1/2 cups water
    cornstarch, about 2 Tbsp.
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    red food coloring
Preparation
    Peel and core apples.
    Slice thin.
    Bring sugars and water to a boil; thicken with cornstarch. Add vanilla and a little red food coloring.
    Pour over apples at 350 degrees for 25 minutes uncovered or at a lower temperature 1 hour.
