Oatmeal Carmelitas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

50 (14 oz. pkg.) light candy caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. quick cooking oats
1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. melted oleo
1 c. butterscotch bits
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Melt caramels in evaporated milk in heavy saucepan.
Cool slightly.
Combine remaining ingredients except butterscotch bits and nuts in large mixing bowl.
Press half of crumbs into bottom of greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Sprinkle with butterscotch bits and nuts.
Spread carefully with caramel mixture.
Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until golden brown.
Chill 1 to 2 hours before cutting into bars.
