Chunky Chocolate Cookie Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    3/4 c. Karo light or dark corn syrup
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 (4 oz. each) pkg. Baker's German's sweet chocolate, cut into large chunks
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
    Beat butter and sugar in large bowl of electric mixer at medium speed, until light and fluffy.
    Slowly beat in corn syrup, then egg and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture until blended.
    Stir in pecans and half the chocolate.
    Spread evenly in ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
    Sprinkle remaining chocolate on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Cool on rack.
    Cut into 2 1/2-inch squares.
    Makes 2 dozen.
