Rice Pilaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    1/2 c. fine egg noodles
    1 c. butter or less
    2 c. white rice (instant)
    3 c. chicken stock
    1 tsp. salt
    fried almonds (optional)
    chives (optional)
Preparation
    Saute onion and noodles in 1/2 cup butter.
    Add rice and brown lightly.
    Add remaining 1/2 cup butter, stock and salt to rice in pan.
    Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Garnish with chives and almonds.
