Creole-Boiled Shrimp - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 gal. water
1 thin slice lemon
1 thin slice onion
2 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 c. salt
3 lb. large shrimp
Preparation

Combine all ingredients, except shrimp, in large kettle. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
Add shrimp and cook for 3 minutes (it won't quite return to boil).
Remove from heat and add 2 cups of cold water.
Let stand 5 minutes; drain.
For less spicy, replace cayenne pepper with pickling spice.
