Cream Cheese Danties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    1 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. wheat flakes, coarsely crushed
Preparation
    Cream together cheese, butter and sugar.
    Add almond extract. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Gradually add to cream mixture, mixing well.
    Chill dough 1 hour.
    Shape dough in small balls.
    Roll in crushed flakes.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 1/2 inches apart.
    Top each with candied cherry.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Remove from pan and cool on rack. Makes 3 dozen.
