Cherry Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat all together at medium speed about 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
    Add slowly 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder and pinch of salt and beat well.
    Spread into 11 x 17-inch greased pan saving 1 1/2 cup of batter for top.
    Spread 1 can cherry pie filling over dough.
    Drop rest of dough over that by spoonfuls.
    Spread out.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar when done.
