Old Fashioned Tea Cakes I(The Kind Grandmother Tied In A Pillow Case) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
7 c. all-purpose flour

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar well.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, then add sifted dry ingredients with the first cup of flour.
Add milk and enough of the remaining flour to the proper consistency for rolling dough on floured board.
Cut in desired shapes.
Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375\u00b0 until lightly tanned.
Store in tight containers.
