Spicy Sausage And Lentil Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry lentils
    1 small bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. garlic salt
    1/8 tsp. dry mustard
    1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/8 tsp. crushed dried thyme
    8 oz. Polish sausage, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
    1 medium onion, cut into wedges
    1 pt. tomatoes and juice
    2 c. tomato sauce
    3 Tbsp. molasses
    2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce or ketchup
Preparation
    In a large pan, combine lentils, 5 cups of water and seasonings.
    Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 35 minutes.
    In skillet, cook sausage and onion until meat is lightly browned.
    Add remaining ingredients and heat through, then add all of this to cooked lentils.
    Simmer, covered, for at least 15 minutes.
    Will be thick.
    Great with cornbread.
