Barbecued Beef Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. chopped onion
    1 heaping Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 c. apple cider or apple juice
    3 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
    1 Tbsp. catsup
    1/4 tsp. dried whole basil
    1/8 tsp. ground allspice
    dash of ground cloves
    4 lb. short ribs
Preparation
    Melt butter in a saucepan.
    Add onion and saute until tender. Add flour, stirring well.
    Gradually add cider.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Stir in relish, catsup, basil, allspice and cloves.
    Cut ribs into serving size pieces and grill over slow coals for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
    Brush ribs with sauce.
    Cook additional 20 minutes, basting and turning frequently.
    Serve with remaining sauce.
