Cake Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Crisco (solid white)
    3 tsp. flavoring (almond/clear vanilla, 1 of each flavor)
    2 tsp. Karo white syrup
    dash of salt (optional)
    1 c. sifted Hershey cocoa (for chocolate icing)*
    1 (2 lb.) bag confectioners sugar
    1/2 c. cold water (more or less)
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 (or 5 if chocolate) ingredients together at medium speed.
    Add the confectioners sugar and water.
    Add sugar first, then pour water over sugar.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Will keep several weeks in refrigerator.
