Ingredients

1 c. margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
2 eggs, separated
2 1/2 c. unsifted, all-purpose flour
2 c. finely chopped walnuts
tart jam or jelly
Preparation

With mixer at medium speed, beat margarine and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
Beat in corn syrup and egg yolks until well mixed.
Stir in flour until well blended.
Chill dough 20-25 minutes or until firm enough to handle.
Shape into 1-inch balls. Dip into lightly beaten egg whites and roll in nuts.
Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
With thumb, make an indention in the center of each cookie.
Bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes, or until golden.
Remove from oven.
While still warm, fill with small amount of jam.
Cool on wire rack.
