Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large can crushed tomatoes
    2 c. dried brown lentils
    1/2 c. chopped carrots
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    V-8 juice (quantity to desired consistency)
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. basil
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. diced parsley
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1 1/2 qt. water
Preparation
    Mix all together.
    Ready when lentils are tender.
