Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions, sliced
    2 large peppers, cut fine
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 lb. hamburger
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. canned tomatoes
Preparation
    Cook onions and green peppers slowly in shortening until onions are yellow.
    Add meat and fry until mixture falls apart. Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings and mix.
    Place in 2-quart casserole; cover and bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
