Real Red Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. Softasilk flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    1 c. milk
    2 eggs (1/3 to 1/2 c.)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour 2 layer pans, 8 or 9 1/2-inch.
    Measure flour by dip-level-pour method or by sifting. Blend in bowl flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and cocoa.
    Add shortening and 2/3 cup milk.
    Beat 2 minutes at medium speed on mixer or 300 vigorous strokes by hand.
    Scrape sides and bottom of bowl constantly.
    Add rest of milk, eggs and vanilla.
    Beat 2 more minutes, scraping bowl frequently.
