Plain Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. milk
    1 large egg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
    Cut in 1/4 cup shortening.
    In separate bowl, beat together milk and egg.
    Add this to flour mixture.
    Do not beat.
    Mixture will be lumpy.
    Grease muffin tin.
    Fill 2/3 full and bake for 25 minutes.
    Makes 12 muffins.
