Pop Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 (7 oz.) bottle strawberry pop
    3 c. flour (sifted)
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 egg whites (beaten stiff)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add pop alternately with flour. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites; add nuts.
    Bake in 3 (8-inch) layer pans or loaf pan (10 x 14-inch) at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
