Mama Pearl'S Green Tomato Ketchup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes, chopped
    6 medium onions, finely chopped
    6 to 8 sweet green peppers, shredded
    2 large hot peppers, chopped
    4 c. vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/2 box pickling spices, tied in cloth
    4 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Drain liquid off chopped tomatoes.
    Add salt.
    Stir a little with hands to mix salt and tomatoes.
    Cover and let stand 2 hours. Drain well.
    Add other ingredients.
    Cook until done.
    Lift out spices.
    Fill jars and seal.
