Easy Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 1/2 c. Spanish peanuts
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a 3-quart heavy saucepan and stir well.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
    Cook, stirring often, until candy thermometer reaches 285\u00b0.
    Stir in peanuts and margarine and continue to cook until candy thermometer reaches 295\u00b0.
    Remove from heat, add vanilla and soda.
    Stir quickly to blend well; mixture will foam.
    Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets and spread out thin.
    Cool 5 minutes, then stretch thinner.
    Cool thoroughly and break into pieces.
