Overnight Macaroons (No Coconut) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. uncooked oatmeal
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Combine oatmeal, sugar and oil.
    Let stand until oil absorbs oatmeal and sugar (overnight).
    Mix beaten egg, salt and vanilla in mixture.
    Put in greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake 20 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Sprinkle chips on top; allow to stand several minutes.
    Spread melted chips to frost.
    Cut in squares while warm.
