Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. apple cider vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1 small jar pimentos
    4 qt. sliced squash
    6 sliced onions
    2 Tbsp. garlic, minced
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric seed
    2 sliced bell peppers
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 c. salt
Preparation
    Slice squash, onions and peppers.
    Add salt and garlic.
    Cover with ice and let stand 3 hours. Drain off water.
    Add spices and vinegar.
    Bring to a rolling boil.
    Put into jars and seal.
